The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Red Flag Warning for low relative humidity and gusty winds, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Tuesday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch for low relative humidity and gusty winds is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 204 Eastern Panhandle/Crescent Lake NWR. * TIMING...For the warning Tuesday, Noon through 9 PM MDT. For the watch Wednesday noon through 9 PM MDT. * WINDS...Tuesday-West 15-25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Wednesday-Northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Tuesday-as low as 13 percent. Wednesday-as low as 15 percent * TEMPERATURES...Tuesday-up to 90. Wednesday-up to 86. * LIGHTNING...none expected. * IMPACTS...Any fire starts should spread rapidly and be difficult to control. Information: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
